CNN's Christine Romans and Ali Velshi tried to argue that no evidence exists linking tax cuts to job creation while interviewing Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) Thursday, on America's deficit problem.

The financial gurus challenged Toomey's conservative point that tax hikes should be off the table as a revenue increase, because they would hurt the economy. "So, where is the evidence that not cutting taxes creates jobs?" Ali Velshi asked. "We haven't seen it."

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the unemployment numbers for October showing “fantastic” gains of 151,000 jobs, according to MSNBC, and an unchanged 9.6 unemployment rate.

CNN’s Christine Romans called it a “good report,” during “American Morning” and noted that it was the “first time in a very, very long time” enough jobs had been added in one month to keep up with new entrants to the workforce. Estimates of the number of jobs needed per month vary between 100,000 and 200,000.

CNN’s Christine Romans finally found the small business perspective on July 24, the day the minimum wage rose to $7.25.

Romans interviewed an owner of a New Jersey Shop Rite grocery story who was “very concerned” that the increase would lead to rising prices in his business and his suppliers’ businesses.

“All these companies all have thousands upon thousands of minimum-wage earners. Obviously their costs increase, it passes on to me and then passes on to the consumer,” Shop Rite owner Rafael Cuellar explained.
