Academic boycott ignores hypocrisy, cites Palestinian grievances.

The American Studies Association is asking its member universities to join the growing academic boycott of Israel. Eight out of the 14 member universities of the ASA’s National Council that approved the boycott have received more than $5.6 million from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2000. The ASA has also been working closely with anti-Israeli organizations to promote this movement.

Even though gay marriage advocates often say those marriages won’t hurt others, business owners have been finding out that isn’t true. Companies, especially wedding-related ones, from several states have been sued and harassed for holding onto religious convictions.

Severson Promotes Gay Protests Against Chick-fil-A (AKA 'Jesus Chicken')

Kim Severson: "Nicknamed 'Jesus chicken' by jaded secular fans and embraced by Evangelical Christians, Chick-fil-A is among only a handful of large American companies with conservative religion built into its corporate ethos. But recently its ethos has run smack into the gay rights movement."

Kim Severson, former Times food writer, is now the paper's Atlanta bureau chief, reported Sunday on a smattering of boycotts by gay activists against the Atlanta-based fast food outlet Chick-fil-A, which has many restaurants in the South.
