Ann "Darth Vader" Coulter Cruelly Dislodges Kitten from Best Seller Slot
Jennifer Schuessler, who pens "Inside the List," a brief commentary in the Times Sunday Book Review on interesting movements on the paper's Best Seller list, is evidently not Ann Coulter's biggest fan. Her latest column, under the subhead, "When Conservatives Attack," facetiously laid intothe star conservative writer, whose new book "Guilty" has dislodged "Dewey," about a "kitten left freezing in the returned-book slot of an Iowa public library," from the #2 spot on the paper's nonfictionlist. 
WHEN CONSERVATIVES ATTACK: Ann Coulter's "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America" enters the hardcover nonfiction list at No. 2, shoving the cuddly "Dewey" down to No. 3. (Have you no sense of decency, madam?) Now that she has perfected the footnote-heavy, single-word-titled screed ("Treason," "Slander," "Godless," "Specious") maybe Coulter will reinvent herself and jump on the pet memoir bandwagon. It sounds as if she does have some nonhuman companions, though judging from past comments about her liberal attackers - "They can't help themselves; they're like my pets" - her training methods are more Darth Vader than Temple Grandin.
Noticethe cute inclusion of the phony title"Specious" to describe Coulter's books. The Times has yet to review "Guilty," even though it made its debut at #2 on the paper's best seller list.
