CMI On TV – A ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Bachelor Party: A ‘Bromitzvah!’
“How do you make something memorable for a guy who makes every night the best night of his life?” Asks Marshall Ericksen (Jason Segel) in the latest episode of CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother.” The fiancée, Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), wisely answers, “give him the worst night of his life!”
The only problem? Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) has a high ideal for bachelor parties: “It’s a rite of passage with his bros, a bromitzvah!” He lists upwards of 20 things that would make it the best night ever.
So Robin plans, “we’ll give him the worst hotel room, with the worst entertainment, the wrong Karate Kid, and the absolute last stripper he would want to see.”
In classic “How I Met Your Mother” fashion, every character in this bro-farce acts like they won’t play along – Barney’s ex-fiancee Quinn Garvey (Becki Newton), the casino bosses, and even Barney’s mom, dismiss the plan, and then say “I love it!”
After the event, an incredulous Barney asks, “Wait, so that’s why you made me think Marshall might die? And I’d lost all my money and my friends hated me and my wedding was off? You just decided to check off everything on this list in the most twisted way imaginable?
“That is awesome!” Indeed. It even turns out the clown was the real Karate Kid in disguise – a cute ending to a hilarious episode.
