Ramón M. Barquín, a respected Cuban Army officer whose struggles to restore the rule of law in Cuba clashed with both the dictator Fulgencio Batista and later the revolutionary government of Fidel Castro, died on Monday at his home in exile in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
Come again? The strongman Batista was a "dictator," but Communist tyrant Fidel Castro was merely head of a "revolutionary government"?
The story's text box at least implied Castro was also a dictator: "An army commander who clashed with two dictatorships at home."
