No Joke: Comedienne Whoopi Goldberg Claims She Could Live Like Jesus

Whoopi Goldberg said she can live like Jesus. And maybe she could if it weren't for His whole divine nature and sinless life thing.

On January 7, sinner Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of ABC's 'The View' referenced Jesus' humanity saying, “I could live like Jesus… Jesus liked to party.” If all Jesus did was “party with the Pagans,” well then Paris Hilton could easily live like Jesus!

But there are a couple small, inconvenient details about Jesus that Goldberg forgot to mention: He lived a sinless life. Oh, and He's fully God, as evidenced by the many miracles He performed.  When's the last time Goldberg walked on water or brought a dead man back to life?

The chat-fest revolved around Michigan reverend Ed Dobson's difficult quest to live like Jesus for a year. Goldberg asked co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd if they could live like Jesus, and both admitted they could not.

But not Whoopi. “I could live like Jesus, I just wanted to say,” she said interrupting Shepherd. “Yeah, yeah. Because Jesus was a man. Jesus got angry. Jesus was happy….Who is more like Jesus than human beings? So yeah, we all pretty much do live like Jesus.”

“We all” heal people? “We all” died for the sins of the world? “We all” live a spotless life? None of the hosts asked these questions after Goldberg's arrogant claim.

Millions of Christians all around the world believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, lived a sinless and holy life, died for the sins of mankind and was resurrected up into Heaven. The apostle Paul writes in Romans 1:3-4, “Regarding his Son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Those are some pretty big sandals to fill, Whoopi.
