Prof at University in Denver Rewrites Anti-American ‘Pledge of Allegiance’

Requires students to recite it in his American Civilization class.

The Pledge of Allegiance has been under attack by liberals in classrooms and courtroom for years. We wouldn’t want to offend anyone with the word “God” in our pledge now would we?

But rather than quibble with a line here or there, a professor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Charles Angeletti, has rewritten the entire pledge and highlights the new “Pledge” as part of his American Civilization Class. The story appeared on the “Fox and Friends” December 9 episode, but since the “pledge” is so offensive they only read the first two lines. The rest of it was posted on FoxNews.Com. The new pledge reads:

I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States Against Anything Un-American,” reads Angeletti's version. “And to the Republicans for which it stands, two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you, if you don't watch your step.

You can’t make this stuff up … well apparently Angeletti can. He’s been handing out the pledge and requiring his students to recite it in the classroom for the last twenty years! Angeletti is a self-professed Athiest and socialist. Campus Reform, which initially broke this story, questioned Angeletti about his anti-American pledge and the reason for it. The tenured professor replied, “We’re very racist, we’re very repressive, we’re very Christian oriented, we don’t tolerate other kinds of thinking in this country” and so because of American’s racism and repression, in his opinion, he rewrote the pledge as a “spoof” on the traditional “Pledge of Allegiance” and uses it as, “a satirical pledge aimed at getting students to question their nation’s leadership.”

A freshman, Steven Farr, who took Angeletti’s class this year, disagreed with the professor’s explanation. “This was an attempt to propagandize an entire classroom of young adults,” whether they agreed with the pledge or the “lesson” there-in or not, Farr said. More students agree with Farr’s assessment of the pledge than with Angeletti’s, according to the academic website Ratemyprofessor.com which allows students to give feedback to prospective students looking to take a particular class or teacher.

The reviews on the academic site reveal that although Angeletti is an easy grader, unless of course you disagree with his opinion – in which case he docks their grades, neither he nor his class is deserving of an A. The student reviewers mostly grade him as “Poor.”

One reviewer said, “Angeletti is the worst prof I have ever had and probably ever will have. He is blatantly liberal, anti-American, close minded, and Christian hating.” According to another, he is described as, “A communist fool who is so out of touch with reality it is mind boggling. To have someone as shallow and stupid as him wasting kids time is wrong.” Another wrote, “This teacher is a joke. Move out of the USA!” And lastly one more student said, “[Angeletti] Delivers his own jaded and poorly informed agenda disguised as educational transmission. An attempt to twist and distort historical reality not teach.”

At least the students are smart enough to recognize the blatant bias, a bias that he himself has admitted to, as he espouses his radically liberal and controversial views on both America and our Pledge.
