Media Defend Obama's Call for More Spending, Despite G-20 'Rift'
When Obama and European leaders met at an economic summit last
weekend, the U.S. president urged continued spending while
Europe called for belt-tightening. Ultimately, the G-20 agreed
to cuts deficits in half by 2013, but the American news media
maintained their support for government spending and even warned
that there would be bad economic consequences if stimulus runs
out.
