CBS Thrills Over Liberal Heckler Who Mocked Christie: 'She Sounded Like a Reporter!'

According to the hosts of CBS This Morning, an angry, liberal heckler fits the definition of "a reporter." The journalists on Wednesday played footage of a protester sparring with Chris Christie over his use of Bruce Springsteen music at rallies. New Jersey resident Sandra Booket yelled, "I thought I heard that Bruce asked that none of his music was played at your events because he didn't believe in your politics."

Christie retorted, "No, you're wrong in, fact, I saw Bruce just a week and a half ago." He added, "If you're going to be cute, we should get the story right." The woman so impressed co-host Vinita Nair that she marveled, "[Booket] sounded like a reporter didn't she? She just kept going." [MP3 audio here.]

Co-host Norah O'Donnell concurred, "Well, yeah and she was biased on one side."  Guest co-host Jeff Glor agreed, "Just a touch."

Glor noted, "During the rest of the town hall meeting the woman, Sandra Booket, stood with a sign that read indict."

Nair could not be dissuaded from touting Booket's journalistic strengths, promoting, "Not a wallflower though."

A transcript of the August 20 segment, which aired at 8:07am, is below:

JEFF GLOR: Governor Chris Christie showed who’s the boss in a heated argument over Bruce Springsteen. At a local town hall meeting yesterday, a woman confronted the governor about his use of Springsteen’s music before the start of his public events.

SANDRA BOOKET: I was under the impression, I thought I heard that Bruce asked that none of his music was played at your events because he didn't believe in your politics.

CHRIS CHRISTIE: No never did that. No, you're wrong. In fact, I saw Bruce just a week and a half ago.

BOOKET: When, you were dancing with Bon Jovi maybe in the Hamptons?

CHRISTIE: Well no, that I was doing this weekend. I was dancing with Jamie Foxx. So, if you're going to be cute, we should get the story right.

BOOKET: I’m pretty sure that I heard--

CHRISTIE: Listen, I know him. I know him and you're wrong. And I understand you're now expressing your politics. You're now expressing your politics and your objection and that's fine. Don't put it in Mr. Springsteen’s mouth. Put it in yours. Because I know Bruce and I’ve spoke to Bruce and you're wrong. You’re absolutely wrong. And maybe, guys, just when I leave, just so we can have this lady be a little calmer, let's play Bon Jovi on the way out. If you want to debate, run for governor and then I'll debate you but I'm not debating you now. Next Question.

GLOR: If you're going to be cute, get the story right. During the rest of the town hall meeting the woman, Sandra Booket, stood with a sign that read "indict."

VINITA NAIR: She sounded like a reporter didn’t she? She just kept going.

GLOR: But was she right?

NORAH O’DONNELL: Yeah. Well, yeah and she was biased on one side. Yeah, clearly.

GLOR: Just a touch.

NAIR: Not a wallflower though. Safe to say.
