Giddy CNN Correspondent: ‘I Feel Like I Should Pinch Myself Right Now’
CNN correspondent Jim Acosta was positively giddy while covering
President Obama's inauguration parade on Monday afternoon, and didn't
hold back his feelings on-air.
"You know, I feel like I should pinch myself right now, Wolf. I can't
believe I have this vantage point of history in the making," Acosta
gushed.

Acosta later added that "It's good to be the President. It's almost like being a rock star on every street corner of Washington on this day."
Acosta was not the only CNN reporter or anchor showing his enthusiasm for President Obama. Later on in the inauguration parade, Wolf Blitzer raved about "history over here" and shouted out and waved at Obama with colleague Kate Bolduan as the President passed by. Both had the same reception for Vice President Joe Biden.

"Well, you know, we're spectators," Blitzer told colleague Kate Bolduan, who agreed. "We're tourists here in Washington." And Blitzer, Bolduan and Acosta all certainly behaved like more than spectators and tourists, becoming admirers of the President.
Earlier in the day, CNN hosts Soledad O'Brien and Piers Morgan couldn't hold back their amazement for the President on Twitter. During Obama's second inaugural address, Morgan tweeted "Obama sounding more and more like Martin Luther King as this speech goes on - powerful, rousing rhetoric. #inauguration."
Soledad O'Brien drew from Obama's linking the civil rights movement with
the push for gay rights. "'Seneca and Selma and stonewall'. Linking
civil rights fights... Then equal pay for women, gay marriage, voter
suppression, immigration. Wow,'" she admitted.
Before the speech, Morgan gushed,
"One inarguable fact about #Obama - the rest of the world finds him
articulate, engaging, intelligent and a great figurehead for America."
