NBC’s McFadden Lobbies Valerie Jarrett to Support Hillary: ‘Poised at This Moment to Break That Glass Ceiling'
NBC’s Cynthia McFadden did what she does best during an interview with Valerie Jarrett, senior advisor to President Obama: Lobby for Hillary Clinton to run for President.
Appearing during a taped interview that aired on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, McFadden hyped how “there's no question that the person who is poised at this moment to break that ultimate glass ceiling is Hillary Clinton.”
McFadden began her line of questioning about the 2016 election by wondering: “I want to talk to you about the future. Is Michelle Obama gonna run for office?” After Jarrett insisted that Mrs. Obama will never run for office, the NBC reporter then pressed the Obama official about her own political future “How about Valerie Jarrett, will you ever run for office?”
When the subject turned to Hillary Clinton, McFadden promoted how “the First Lady said yesterday that we should have a female President as soon as possible” but Jarrett dismissed the hype by noting: “Well, since she hasn't even announced her candidacy, I think it's premature.”
McFadden is well known for her Hillary cheerleading as she practically begged her to run for president during an interview with the former First Lady in early June. Speaking with Clinton, McFadden gushed “I know you haven’t made up your mind, but I’m going to give you the evidence from your book why I think you actually are running for president.”

CYNTHIA MCFADDEN: I want to talk to you about the future. Is Michelle Obama gonna run for office?
VALERIE JARRETT: No.
MCFADDEN: You said that very definitively.
JARRETT: Well, I'm absolutely, 100% positive that that will never happen.
MCFADDEN: How about Valerie Jarrett, will you ever run for office?
JARRETT: Unlikely.
MCFADDEN: But maybe?
JARRETT: Not as definitive as the First Lady, but highly unlikely.
MCFADDEN: The First Lady said yesterday that we should have a female president as soon as possible.
JARRETT: Absolutely. Absolutely.
MCFADDEN: There's no question that the person who is poised at this moment to break that ultimate glass ceiling is Hillary Clinton.
JARRETT: Well, since she hasn't even announced her candidacy, I think it's premature.
