Obama's Congress of Court Jesters
You would think all members of Congress would rebel at being systematically made irrelevant. Is it possible they are so dumb they can’t see Obama at work neutering them?
The myriad horrors woven throughout the 2,000+ page health insurance industry destruction, takeover and tax bill are finally beginning to be revealed – a process spurred by McDonalds. What this bill really is all about is concentration of power in one branch of government. Congress okays gigantic, sweeping bill granting all manner of powers to the White House and its czars and appointed administrators, who will turn the 2,000 deliberately incomprehensible pages into 20,000 pages of regulations and rules. Congress has no input or influence on those rules. Nor does Congress approve the appointed masters of this new domain. Pelosi blithely stated her transfer of power: we can all learn what’s in this bill after we enact the bill.
It was the exact same thing with the financial industry destruction, takeover and tax bill. Obama says: “Sign here. Don’t bother reading – let alone questioning – anything. Just sign here, sign over all your authority, shut up, and go home until I need your signatures again.”
Forget the myth that Congress, not the White House, crafted these bills. How could they have crafted them if they admit to never reading them?
Obama has, on repeated occasions, publicly expressed his disdain for the 3rd branch: the Supreme Court. He has demonstrated his belief that Congress should act as rubber stamp. His closest advisors have made it clear they view the Constitution as antiquated and irrelevant. Few in the media have connected these dots. Obama sounds and acts imperial because that is exactly what he thinks he should have; an imperial presidency. All hail the king. The fact that the king is insane and destroying the entire kingdom from within ought not matter. All hail the king, dammit.
It shines as brightly as the gold on the throne – his every initiative is about increasing dependence on him. His every action profoundly favors big business over small business, because it is easier to corrupt and control five than 50,000. He is creating a permanent underclass of forever unemployed, more food stamp recipients than ever, people staying in homes not paid for under moratorium gift from the handful of major, too-big-to-fail banks, all of which he could take away in a day on a whim – so all on these doles damn well better hail Caesar.
Despite hurried exemptions granted discriminatively, as temporary, pardon pun, band-aids for an election year, the health bill is designed to take employer-provided and private coverage away from hundreds of thousands of people, creating the crisis mandating single-payer, government run health care – so all can be dependent on his administrators for yeas or nays for their very lives. Better not anger Caesar.
Obama is methodically converting Congress to court jesters. They act out amusing theater, but have no real power. He is rendering individual independence impossible as quickly as he can. He’s transforming the White House from the people’s house to king’s castle. Maybe he believes if he weakens
