BOZELL TO NBC/COMCAST: REFUSAL TO APOLOGIZE FOR BASHIR PROVES YOU SHARE HIS VIEWS ON CONSERVATIVE WOMEN

RESTON, VA – To date, NBC/Comcast has made absolutely no apology to its viewers or to Gov. Sarah Palin for Martin Bashir’s vile screed on November 15 suggesting that she should be forced to consume excrement. Even following Bashir’s own apology and subsequent resignation, NBC/Comcast’s top executives have remained completely silent.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin offered only public support for Bashir, releasing a statement yesterday that said in part, “I understand his decision and I thank him for three great years with MSNBC. Martin is a good man and respected colleague – we wish him only the best.”

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell reacts:

“This one is not over.  NBC/Comcast’s continued refusal to acknowledge, let along apologize, for Martin Bashir’s disgusting remarks about Sarah Palin is as gutless as it is shameful. They owe it to their viewers and to Gov. Palin to issue a strong, unequivocal public statement condemning the vile hate speech that they’ve not only permitted, but encouraged on MSNBC.

“Their silence confirms one thing for certain: NBC/Comcast believes it is totally acceptable for someone to defecate in a woman’s mouth so long as that woman is a conservative.”
