Frosted Flakes and feminism? The two don’t seem to go hand-in-hand but a new video parody brilliantly shows how liberals could make anything an issue of sexism. The cheeky video uploaded to Youtube [1] Nov.11 mocks the feminist tendency to overanalyze everything, by complaining about sexism in an unexpected place- breakfast cereal commercials.
The video entitled, “Tropes vs Women in Breakfast Cereals” is a play on feminist activist Anita Sarkeesian’s Youtube series, “Tropes Vs. Women,” [2] which complains about how women are portrayed in video games.
Feminist host Evan Delshaw introduces the topic like so: “Today we’re going to carefully over-analyze various cereals and tell you why you’re a horrible person for enjoying them.”
Delshaw has a lot to say about how “sexism is alive and well in cereal commercials.” He talks about the wage gap and catcalling in a Lucky Charms commercial; domestic assault against women in a Corn Pops ad and “the normalization of sexual assault” and “rape culture” present in a Cinnamon Toast Crunch ad.
This is user Evan Delshaw’s first video but let’s hope he makes more videos mocking the overly analytical tendencies of feminists.
