Last night’s Emmys was pretty tame, but one liberal comedian tried to make it more entertaining. On the red carpet beforehand, Sarah Silverman pulled out a pen and showed it to E!’s Giuliana Rancic bragging, “This is my pot, liquid pot. [1]”
In their Emmys roundup August 26, ABC’s Good Morning America managed to ask Silverman about being barefoot while accepting her Emmy award, but didn’t mention or ask her about her red carpet confession.
Sarah Silverman is not new to publicity stunts. She has a history of using social media for shock value. In April she doodled a swastika [2] calling it “Holocaust High”. She’s tweeted crass things about Republicans and frequently makes rape jokes [3]. She is a big pro-abortion advocate, appearing in PSAs which mock Jesus Christ [4] and she’s even hosted an abortion telethon [5].
