Couric Baits Justice Ginsburg: Could Male Justices ‘Truly Understand’ ‘What It’s Like To Be a Woman?’

Gender-based questions are a staple in former anchor’s liberal playbook.

Former anchor Katie Couric has a long history of not just floating between networks and sinking ratings but also inserting left-wing rhetoric in wherever she can. Granted an exclusive interview with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for Yahoo! News July 30, Couric couldn’t help but ask the liberal justice about the sexism behind the Hobby Lobby decision.

Couric prodded Ginsburg into conceding that the male justices on the Court were essentially incapable of making a fair judgement because…. they were men.  Couric dramaticized, “Do you believe that the five male justices truly understood the ramifications of their decision?”

Couric: “All three women justices were in the minority on the Hobby Lobby decision. Do you believe that the five male justices truly understood the ramifications of their decision?”

Ginsburg: “I would have to say, no. But justices continue to think and can change, so I’m ever hopeful that if the court has a blind spot today, its eyes will be open tomorrow.”

Couric: “But you do in fact, think these five justices had a bit of a blind spot?”

Ginsburg: “In Hobby Lobby? Yes. Yes. The same kind of blind spot the majority had in Lilly Ledbetter’s case.”

Couric: “Because they couldn’t understand... what it is like to be a woman?”

Ginsburg: “Well, [laughs], they all have wives, they have daughters. By the way, I think daughters can change the perception of their fathers.”

Couric has a history of inserting feminism into her civerage. In magazine interviews and commencement speeches, she has repeatedly complained that sexism got her fired from CBS and ABC. When New York Times editor Jill Abramson was fired, Couric accused the paper of firing Abramson because of sexism, even though Abramson denied this. In typical liberal style, Couric attacked Sarah Palin while throwing softball questions to Joe Biden for the 2008 election. Because after all, there’s only a ‘war on women’ when it’s liberal women being targeted.

Couric recently announced her daytime talk show on ABC was ending and she was moving to Yahoo to be their global news anchor, so more agenda-based journalism is to be expected from the website.
