You can learn a lot surfing the pages of the Huffington Post – particularly if you stumble across HuffPo’s “Gay Voices” page. From a Nov. 16 post there by Robin Wilkey, readers learned that there’s a network called Vice TV and a sex show called “Slutever.” It was further to be gleaned that San Francisco has something called the Folsom Street Fair, which Wilkey said is that town’s “famed celebration of fetish and BDSM, and one of the city's largest fundraisers.” (Famed?) ">

“Slutever” seems to be a light documentary program along the lines of “Man Versus Food,” but host Karley Sciortino is interested in sexual novelty. “Slutever” dedicated an episode to the Folsom Street Fair, and Wilkey helpfully posted it, along with some more piquant quotes: “‘Wow, it smells like freedom and semen here,’ she exclaimed upon arriving. ‘Love it!’”

Wilkey also prepared viewers with more delicate sensibilities. “Sciortino’s Clueless-style gawking may not sit well with Folsom purists,” she explained. “But though the approach may be irreverent, the content is not.” Wilkey didn’t say what constitutes a “purist” among people who wear latex penis noses and enjoy being whipped in public, or why irreverence upsets cross-dressing spanking aficionados.

But in the end, “Slutever’s” take on the Folsom Street Fair passes muster. “Sciortino also gets whipped, dances with nudists and receives a titillating lady lap dance,” Wilkey wrote. “So we've gotta give the girl some credit.”

Wilkey is based in San Francisco, so her interest is parochial. Sciortino had dubbed “our fair city the ‘sex mecca.’” She asked readers to use the comment section to say what they though of “Sciortino’s assement of San Francisco.”

The responses were enough to make you wish they’d go back to talking about how super awesome Obama is.
