Gore Ignores Repeated Global Warming Debate Challenge
When pressed to run for the presidency, Al Gore often tells people he is running a different campaign – one that involves spreading his message about global warming to the uneducated masses.
So that begs the question – why won’t Gore take on his critics and debate them about the science he espouses when it comes to promoting the global warming hysteria he has created.
One group, DemandDebate.com, has repeatedly made requests for a debate, but thus far Gore has declined. “Al Gore has refused multiple invitations to debate in-person about global warming,” said Steve Milloy, executive director of DemandDebate.com.
The group has instead created a mock debate with expert climatologists including Syun-ichi Akasofu, Tim Ball, Ian Clark, Piers Corbyn, Patrick Michaels, Nir Shaviv and Frederick Singer. They claim there is no evidence carbon dioxide drives global temperature change.
“[W]e've decided to let video of his previous remarks do the talking for him," Milloy said.
Global warming skeptics have been compared to Holocaust deniers and most recently moon-landing deniers.

But as former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan pointed out in his book, “The Age of Turbulence,” for any cap and trade system to be effective, it would have to be an international effort or it would be detrimental to our economy.
“Yet as an economist, I have grave doubts that international agreements imposing a globalized so-called cap-and-trade system on CO2 emissions will prove feasible,” Greenspan wrote. “There is no effective way to meaningfully reduce emissions without negatively impacting a large part of an economy,” Greenspan wrote. “Net, it is a tax. If the cap is low enough to make a meaningful inroad into CO2 emissions, permits will become expensive and large numbers of companies will experience cost increases that make them less competitive. Jobs will be lost and real incomes of workers constrained.”
But, Gore continues to champion the fight against global warming without acknowledging the serious economic implications and addressing those concerned the scientific validity of his claims.
“Though Al Gore aggressively promotes global warming alarmism, he unfortunately seems to lack confidence in his ability to debating climate change against others,” Milloy said. “But Al Gore's curious reluctance will hardly stop the public from being able to see how his points stack up against that of climate experts."
