The "Obesity Epidemic"?
Liberal health zealotry in the Times.

Obesity's a problem, sure. But is it really an epidemic?
It is, according to the Times' food police. In Wednesday's off-lead on New York City's first-in-the-nation ban on artificial trans-fats in restaurant food, Thomas Lueck and Kim Severson write that "Health officials said displaying calorie counts was meant to address what is widely regarded as a nationwide epidemic of obesity."
In a joyless accompanying editorial thattalks of the "punishing" calorie intake of a Starbucks drink, the Times repeats the zealotry: "The phasing out of trans fats from all city restaurants, not just fast-food chains, won't do much about the obesity epidemic but it could save people from heart attacks and death if administered properly."
